  • Goodbye Winter....Ready for Spring!

Having no electricity for 3 days is no fun!  The 6 inches of beautiful powdery snow was!!  Nice to see it fall, but even nicer to see it melt.

Right now it's very cold, but we've had some 70-80 degree days earlier this week.  I'm so ready for spring & summer!!

Here are some snow pictures from March 2, 2009:

This is what we woke up to on Monday morning.

We packed up & moved in with PaPaw & MaMaw for a few days & the kids played in the snow.  Hannah wasn't too keen on the idea, she thought it was too cold & too bright.

Seth would stay out all day if I let him.

  • Happy New Year!!

Yep, just now getting around to posting some Christmas pics.

Not bad for Sue's living room, huh?  A little photoshop correction & WHAALAAA!!  We owe Gary for taking this pic.  Wonder if he charged a sitting fee ;)?

Christmas Eve....being good sports about posing in front of our skinny tree.

Could they be any more angelic???  I love the little sweater dresses...a gift from Jimmy & Kelly Carpenter.   Mr. Jimmy is Meredith's favorite at church.  Hannah still loves her Mrs Vickie & Mrs Debbie.

Seth sporting a new Florida Gators uniform while showing off his rollback truck (which Shane tensed up about) & 1950 something Chevrolet his PaPa gave him.

Meet Princess Aurora & Snow White!! Love the Tinkerbell toybox in the background.

My beautiful nephew, Culley, who is growing so fast!!  The girls were sick & we tried our best to keep them at a distance from him.  That's hard when he is so cute & at that stage where he smiles & coos.

Big Marshall just after a day at the spa, all fluffed.  Hannah's just showing a little love.  Poor Marsh is still not eating much since our little Boo passed away.  He doesn't seem to mind it if we go to Hardees for cheeseburgers or make sausage biscuits for him.  It's just the dog food & treats, he & Boy used to share, that turn him off.  I think he's still waiting for Boy to eat first, so he can eat.  Bless him.  We now have him back inside for the most part to keep him company.  He loves the attention from the kids & follows me everywhere.

My cousin Thomas Alan, Erica (his girlfriend), & her daughter Lorelei.  She has the most beautiful name, doesn't she? Oh yeah.....Spanky is their dog...not good with kids, by the way.  We always have lots of fun & laughs when they come up from S. Florida.

Lorelei is serenading, while the girls relax on Aunt Tricia's pillows.

Lots of pictures & there are more...just wanted to post a few!!!  Hope you all have a wonderful New Year!  May God's love shine through us more & more each day as we draw closer to Him, seek His ways, worship Christ alone & serve Him faithfully!!

So, don't fuss because I haven't blogged in forever!  Shane & I have hooked up with facebook, thanks to Miss Leah.  It's actually a lot more fun & easier to keep up with people, so thank you, Leah!  For those who read this, GET A FACEBOOK, hahahah!

Shane & I celebrated 14 years of marriage on November 11th.  It's hard to believe!!  We went to Olive Garden & did a little Christmas shopping.  That has become a tradition for us to start our shopping on our anniversary.  Shane has "watch fever" lately so I bought him a nice Fossil watch & he bought me some clothes from my favorite store, Ann Taylor Loft (on sale, btw).  I can't imagine life without my Shane!  We've had our ups & downs through the years but God's hand has been right there the whole time!!  He is guiding us & molding us to the image of His Son!  It's so awesome to see where God has placed us here & there, the people we've met & still keep in touch with, the blessings He has given us...I could go on & on!  God has truly blessed us & now, we are closer to each other & to Him, because of His leading!!

Last Tuesday, was very eventful!  Shane was on his way to the gym just like every Tuesday.  However, Andrew (his workout buddy) had to work & wasn't able to meet Shane until noon.  Shane called me soon after he left the house & said "I was just hit, but I'm ok!"  He was stopped, ready to turn left with his signal on when a huge roll back truck wasn't paying attention & wasn't stopping!!  Instead of bracing himself, Shane hit the gas (which saved him) to try to get out of the way, but the truck just couldn't stop in time & slammed into the Jeep.  The police came, of course, & when Shane got home, I told him insurance would total the car (It's a '97 Jeep, so it's prb not worth much but worth a lot more to us).  Well, we can't afford another car...the Jeep is paid for.  The guy that hit him worked for an auto body & repair shop (see how God works?).  He offered to fix the Jeep for free!!  Praise the Lord!!  So, they picked it up Wednesday & brought it back on Friday...FIXED!!  Shane still has to sign the repair claim & take it down there.  The neat thing about it is the ministry opportunity Shane has had with the guys!  Even though the rear left bumper was crushed, the Jesus magnet wasn't touched.  God can speak through magnets??  Absolutely!!  That's all the man could talk about...how Jesus protected Shane.  Shane was quick to point out that Jesus protected the other guy too.  So, pray for Shane as he ministers to these men 'cause their contact is not over yet!  God has a plan for this situation & it brings me to tears to think of how God creates situations for His Glory!!  He is in control!!

It wasn't as bad as it could have been.  The damage doesn't look that bad, but here are a few pics of the Jeep:

Here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving at Mom & Dad's.  The kids had their own parade & dressed as pilgrims.  Daddy rode them around in the wagon.  Hey, we have to find interesting ways to have fun, don't we!  My cousin's daughter joined them too.  Momma & Aunt Tricia had fun too.

Little Caylee has a new baby sister who will probably be on the wagon next year.  If the Lord blesses us with more children, Daddy's going to have to break out the BIG wagon & pull them with the tractor instead of the lawn mower :).

Oh, here's a pic I found from a couple years ago, of Daddy & Seth on the tractor.

Look at my sweet Dad!!  I think Seth & Daddy look a lot alike.

Have a joyous Christmas season!  Jesus is the reason!!

Proud mom, Ashlie, with baby Culley.

Ashlie really needs our prayers right now!  Her husband, Jeremy, is serving in the Navy Seabees, currently deployed to the Middle East.  Unfortunately, he was not able to be here for the birth.  He was, however, able to call in & help coach Ashlie through the birth.  Jeremy is scheduled to return from deployment sometime in the spring of next year.  Please pray for God's protection on this precious family!!!  Pray for Jeremy's protection most of all!!  The area he is in is not a stable place, especially now!  We love Jeremy, not only as a brother-in-law, but as a brother in Christ!!

It is a pleasure to be able to turn on the site and see the family and read their thoughts. It is an insight into what they are thinking about how they feel about their goals and hopes, and what kind of people they are.

Traci...I am so glad you had time to fellowship with some of your "old" friends. I know that you and Shane have really missed them. The pictures were great. I am sure you took so many that it was hard to choose which ones to post. I am so thankful that homecoming went well. I really wanted to be the

I am so proud of Seth! He is such a loving and sweet child. I have noticed how kind his heart is and that can be credited to two wonderful parents.

What a wonderful web site. It is great to ba able to listen to the sermons and use that as a time to really meditate on what you heard on Sunday or Wednesday. This is such a valuable source for outreach ministries. God Bless you all.
